Troye Sivan has enthralled audiences with his newest single, “Rush,” continuing to make waves in the LGBT community with his confident and unapologetic expression of queer love.

Troye Sivan has created the perfect formula for an iconic dance-pop hit. By taking elements of house and EDM beats, he has conjured up the perfect sound for an erotic club experience on Friday night out. His dreamy stacked vocals lay atop this upbeat, chugging instrumental, luring listeners in with a catchy chorus that is backed by chanting vocals. The beat remains pulsating throughout the track and contains interesting effects like panning of the percussion that keep the space in the song moving. Troye earns a 9/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale for his sound.


LYRICS

The chorus of this track rings out with background singers chanting, “I feel the rush, addicted to your touch.” Many have speculated that the “rush” in question here is related to poppers which is a popular party drug. Troye details an intimate experience with a lover singing, “Translate your vibration, let your body talk to me.” He is lyrically raw on this track, spelling out his fantasies and desires while he is at this party.
