Austin-based producer Qrion offers a heartfelt journey with her new single, "Keep On Moving Up," ahead of her second album, We Are Always Under The Same Sky, releasing January 17 via Anjunadeep.
Speaking about the song, she explains, "it is about hitting rock bottom and challenging myself to conquer small goals, gradually working my way up to larger ones. The lyric 'Don’t Know Where I’m Going' reflects the uncertainty of my first year of sobriety after rehab, capturing the struggle and growth of finding my path forward.”
This raw, house-infused track captures her path through sobriety, reflecting on the struggles of rebuilding life after hitting rock bottom. Qrion poignantly mirrors the uncertainty of early sobriety and the resilience needed to move forward.
The upcoming album is a mix of emotive, dancefloor-ready tracks, including “Hush My Heart,” a melodic house track featuring Josie Man, and “Miyanosawa,” a tribute to her roots in Sapporo. Building on the acclaim of her 2021 debut album, I Hope It Lasts Forever, this album represents rebirth and celebrates diverse South-East Asian talent, featuring artists like Josie Man and DIDI HAN. With Zee Yorke’s visuals accompanying the album, Qrion brings her uniquely melancholic and uplifting sound to life, weaving together house, soul, and her memories of childhood music lessons with her pianist father. This record encapsulates her evolution, offering a sonic landscape that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable.
