Rising singer/songwriter Mina Okabe has released her latest single, “Strong,” via Capitol Records. The Danish-Japanese artist continues to make waves in the pop music scene with this track, which blends breezy melodies with emotional depth.
“Strong” is the second single from Okabe’s forthcoming album and features production from Grammy-nominated hitmaker Leroy Clampitt, known for his work with Dua Lipa and Sabrina Carpenter. The song showcases Okabe’s airy vocal delivery, capturing the bittersweet emotions of love and longing.
“‘Strong’ is a love song,” says Okabe. “It’s about not being strong enough to play it cool and hold back feelings for someone. It’s probably one of my most optimistic songs, and I’m so excited to release it because of its energy. For the most part I write about things that are hard for me to talk about, and the lyrics usually end up sad and emotional. I’m thrilled to release a song that stands out in that sense.”
The single follows her previous release, “Maybe One Day,” and highlights her signature mix of shimmering grooves, gentle acoustic guitar, and poignant lyrics. Named a Spotify RADAR Artist and an Apple Music One To Watch for 2023, Okabe continues to rise as a global artist, with performances at major festivals like Roskilde and Summer Sonic under her belt.
With her distinct sound and heartfelt songwriting, Mina Okabe is solidifying her place in the pop music landscape.
