Press Play: Kate Peytavin Releases Explosive Single "make u miss me"

Up-and-coming alt-pop sensation Kate Peytavin has just released her new single, “make u miss me,” via Capitol Records and S10 Records. The explosive yet tender track solidifies the 19-year-old artist’s status as one of pop music’s most promising newcomers.

Produced by Boy Blue, a platinum-selling producer/songwriter/musician known for his work with Suki Waterhouse, Natalie Jane, and others, “make u miss me” offers an intimate glimpse into the frustration and frenzy of breaking free from obsession. Co-written by Peytavin, Brandt, and hitmaker Skyler Stonestreet (Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp), the confessional track reveals an emotional intelligence well beyond Peytavin’s years.

“‘make u miss me’ was born out of a raw, intense moment,” says Peytavin. “I had spent too long trapped in my delusions and denial over someone who didn’t care about me. The instant I faced reality, I was overwhelmed by a torrent of emotions. I channeled my anger, sadness, confusion, and jealousy into creating this chaotic whirlwind of a song that I love so much.”

Opening with a moody arrangement of warped vocals and shadowy rhythms, “make u miss me” quickly builds a powerful urgency that perfectly matches Peytavin’s emotional outpouring. The chorus bursts into a sublime free-for-all propelled by dizzying beats and wild guitar riffs, with Peytavin’s vocal performance and lyrics conveying both frenetic energy and pure vulnerability.

“make u miss me” follows the release of Peytavin's recent single, “i don’t feel anything,” a ’90s-alt-rock-inspired track that premiered last month alongside its intimate yet cinematic video.

Originally from Louisiana, Peytavin discovered her passion for both singing and acting at an early age. Her magnetic presence and massive talent quickly garnered a large following on social media, amassing over a million followers on TikTok alone. This led to a deal with Capitol Records / S10 Records and a co-sign from pop queen Olivia Rodrigo. As Peytavin continues to rise in the music scene, fans can look forward to more new music showcasing her unforgettably resonant songwriting and boldly original sound.
