Meet Mariah, a model, marketer, it-girl, and San Diego native. Mostly focused on print and commercial modeling, Mariah has worked with brands like L’Oréal, Apple, MeUndies, Milani Cosmetics, Adidas, White Claw, and more. Did we mention she has a face card that never declines? For the third installment of the series, we got all of the tea on Mariah's beauty secrets.
When did you first get into beauty?
I first got into beauty in sixth grade. I used to beg my mom to let me wear eyeliner, like literally just eyeliner on my waterline ahahahaha (I had a fake emo phase and needed to complete the look).
What initially garnered your attention to beauty?
This one is actually super simple. I think it was watching my mom/aunt have the same makeup routines from the '90s to this day, and one of the main things she uses is eyeliner on her waterline, which I always loved. Oh, and of course, the naked palettes by Urban Decay raised me.
What was the first ever beauty product that you were obsessed with?
This one is going to be so funny, but the Bath and Body Works C.O Bigelow lip glosses (mentha flavor is the best). That was to me what Rhode is to the kids now.
Who are some of your current beauty inspos?
I think Tracee Ellis Ross for sure, not because I think I’ll look like her when I get older, but I think that even with a full face, she and her glam team have such a way of making her natural beauty/essence be the most prevalent through any look. I would also say my best friend, Miss Salem Mitchell. I mean, I really could say a lot, but the face on that one is a pure encapsulation of natural beauty, and this is a conversation for another day. Clearly, I have a vested interest, but I think she is the blueprint for a lot of trailblazing in the beauty/modeling/internet space.
Okay, now let's get into some product questions! If you could only bring three beauty products with you on a two-month trip, what would they be?
1. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
2. Byredo Kajal Eye Pencil
3. E.l.f. Soap Brow
Fabulous! Now, name three underrated beauty products that people should know about.
1. Bur Bur Glowing Season Face Oil
2. Byredo Kajal Eye Pencil
3. Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator
Okay, now give me one Mariah exclusive beauty tip!
I am obsessed with using the same lip liner on both my lips and on my waterline if I want an extra pop, and, honestly, just always take care of your skin and get a signature scent. Good skin and smelling good is unbeatable.
