Inside Look: Second Annual "Young, Gifted, & Black In Beauty" Dinner

Drew Townsel

On Monday evening in Los Angeles, California, we hosted our second annual "Young, Gifted, & Black In Beauty" Dinner – an intimate event that aims to highlight the next generation of power players in the beauty industry.

Black creators set the standard for beauty trends and offer vital guidance to beauty lovers who look like them. Because of their content and contributions, young people of color are able to discover products that suit their complexion and learn the tips and tricks to accentuate their beauty. However, these amazing creators still do not receive proper recognition. At Intersect, we work hard to give them their well-deserved flowers.

Black Radiance Beauty is a brand that specializes in makeup for dark skin tones, providing high-quality products tailored to the needs of people with melanin-rich skin. Their shade ranges are deep, and so is their love for the next generation of beauty. This was their second year sponsoring the event, and we look forward to partnering with them in the future.

The dinner took place at Margot in Culver City, and the menu was absolutely delicious, featuring truffle arancini, potatoes bravas, little gem caesar salad, bombolotti pasta, salmon, and a chef's selection of dessert.

The creators in attendance were Sicard, Nylah, Mariah, Jaida, Cydney, Salem, Kyra, Ke'Era, and Temi.

Our Founder moderated a productive and inspiring discussion on the state of Black beauty, prompting the creators to speak about the importance of representation, their go-to Black beauty products, and more. The Black Radiance team gifted some of their best-selling products to each attendee.
