Haz Futcha is a 29 year old producer from St. Louis, MO. He's made some of the hottest tracks for some of the hottest rappers. In this interview we asked him some questions about his journey in the world of music.
How did the way you grew up in St. Louis motivate you to get to where you are?
Being from where I'm from; it just made me want to get out. I was motivated because I feel like music was my only outlet besides working a regular job.
What age did you start producing music? Was it hard to get the hang of it when you first started?
I started producing at 19 years old. I'm 29 now, so I been doing it for ten years. Yeah, it was hard to get the hang of it at first. I started producing on a laptop using software called FL studio, and it took time to get used to it.
How did you get your name out there when you started?
I started working with artists that I knew personally. They were mostly from my city. As songs got big my connections expanded.
Who are some of the artists you worked with?
G Herbo, Young Thug, Kevin Gates, Lil Yachty, and Uzi.
What was your favorite project out of all of them?
When I worked with Uzi definitely.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I see myself owning a record label and signing artists.
Do you think that producers sometimes get the short end of the stick in the music industry?
I think producers sometimes get the short end of the stick because they are limited to what they can do because artists have their own visuals so they can work in other fields like acting and stuff, we don't.
