Meet the lovely model and content creator Dana Nozime. As an Aquarius girly who was literally born on Valentine's Day, Dana effortlessly exudes beauty and love. She is known on social media for her perfectly curated feed, enchanting content, and a to-die-for collection of vintage fashion.
Dana started her journey on social media when she created the anonymous Twitter account @jcrewaddicts (which is no longer active) at sixteen years old while in high school because of her love for the J.Crew brand creative directed by Jenna Lyons. She began to pour her attention into her personal social media accounts in 2019, and in the summer of 2020, she grew tremendously, opening the door to working with many of her dream brands.
When did you first get into beauty?
I have to admit my skincare era took off when Glossier became the it-brand of skincare in 2016-2017 when I was about nineteen or twenty. There was this new hype around a new approach to skincare, and also, as I reached my 20s, I developed an interest in taking care of and understanding the changes in my skin.
What was the first ever beauty product that you were obsessed with?
I think of Maybelline's “Great Lash” mascara. Something about the hot pink and green bottles my sister had in her makeup collection got my attention when I was young.
Who are your current beauty inspirations in culture?
Is it bad if I say no one? That’s not to say there aren’t amazing people creating inspirational beauty content, but I feel that I do my makeup the way I do it and have done it, and that’s that. I don’t follow any beauty creators specifically for beauty inspiration— if anything, I’ve taken inspiration from the catwalk queens of the '90s, but I’m truly not very experimental with makeup – it’s something I want to get more into.
Let's get into some product recs! If you could only bring three beauty products with you on a two-month trip, what would they be and why(the must-haves)?
Perfect! Now, name a few underrated beauty products that people should know about.
To close, give me one Dana exclusive beauty tip!
