In Review: A$AP Rocky's "Shittin Me"?

Rapper, A$AP Rocky has been on a hiatus for some time, focusing on his family and his fashion brand. However, his singles are always highly anticipated because they always hit a sweet spot for fans. Rocky is back with a new single titled, 'Shittin’ Me'. Let's see if it hits the spot.

SOUND

The song has an upbeat drum pattern along with many synth effects. The vocal panning stands out on this track, and it is clear that Rocky is taking more creative liberties when it comes to his sound. It is also evident that he put much focus into his ad-libs as they add a ton of body to the track. There is a beat switch and flow change towards the end of the song which creates an interesting quality to the track. Rocky's sound grants him a 10/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale.

LYRICS

This track is not too lyrically dense which is typical for Rocky. He is simply expressing how his haters do not interrupt his lavish lifestyle and he gets this message across clearly. One interesting line in this track is a reference to an old 2 Pac video where he says, “Riverside Radames,.380 by the leg, Got me feelin’ like Pac and shit”. He pays homage to the legendary rapper through this rhyme. These lyrics get Rocky a 5/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale.

ART BEHIND THE TRACK

Rocky posted an alluring music video to go along with the song. He is known for his creative visuals and this video keeps that title up for him. It pictures different scenes of Rocky showing off his riches and participating in many other endeavors. The video is shot using very interesting angles and is a great return to music creation for him. This video grants Rocky a 10/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale.

Overall A$AP Rocky gets an 8/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale.
