Alaïa made it look easy at New York Fashion Week, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2025 collection at the iconic Guggenheim Museum.
Normally a Paris regular, Alaïa's move to NYC brought a wave of excitement, drawing inspiration from the city’s vibrancy. Pieter Mulier’s designs echoed the museum’s spiraled architecture, merging Alaïa’s classic aesthetic with modern artistry.
The event was, of course, star-studded, with Rihanna, Lewis Hamilton, and fashion luminaries like Anna Wintour gracing the front row. The model cast also included top names such as Kendall Jenner.
Fresh, flowy, and flirty, the collection featured sculptural designs in a palette of neutral tones, with sinuous silhouettes and asymmetrical cuts reflecting the curves of the venue. We saw many itty-bitty tops, pleated mini-skirts, and our favorite – hoods. Mulier’s reinterpretation of Alaïa’s codes felt modern yet timeless – leading many fashion lovers to call out the potential for this show to be the best of the season.
